THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT

2024 - 2025

'The Department of Tortured Poets' is Taylor Swift's 11th album, released on 19 April 2024. It was expanded as a double album two hours after its release, subtitled 'The Anthology'.

The album's musical style is based on synth-pop, folk pop and pop. The songs introspect their public and private lives, detailing turmoil and sadness through motifs of self-awareness, mourning, anger, humour and delusion. Soft, depressive melodies dominate the album.

The album has been very well received by fans and critics alike, and has already achieved record sales, despite being quite recent.

In short, 'TTPD' has further elevated the success of Taylor Swift's career and solidified her as one of the best known and most acclaimed singers and songwriters of our time.
